EXPERT FAQ

My Freelancer Profile

How do I register to be a network member?

It’s very easy. You just have to go to eond.eu/become-an-expert, fill out the fields with your details, upload your CV and submit.

What are your requirements for approving profiles?

We are committed to providing a high-quality platform that would ensure we match most relevant experts with best fitting projects, which is why we double check the validity of data uploaded to expert profiles.

What is the cost of joining the EonD Roster?

Once we receive your CV, we place it in our Roster totally free of charge. It does not require any additional action on the Expert’s side.

Can I copy my LinkedIn description directly to EonD?

You can, but ideally, we would also encourage you to submit your full CV. That way we will be able to match you better and facilitate connecting you with relevant projects.

I already have a permanent job. Can I still use EonD’s platform?

You can so long as your employment contract allows it and you don’t break any rules specified in your agreement and NDA.

When I join EonD’s network, can I do any consulting work for other companies?

You may continue to work with your current clients and any new clients that you will have engaged through your own sources. Should you pursue any new project with the Client introduced by EonD, we ask that you do so through our organization and apply our T&C/ NDA.

How do I know how much to charge for the consultation?

If you do not have a predetermined hourly rate for phone consultations, EonD can make a suggestion based on years of experience, functions and positions held and the specific insights of the expert.

Who do I discuss and confirm my rates with?

You should discuss and confirm your rates with EonD’s team. Your point of contact should be the team member that first contacted you or the person on the communication team that takes the engagement further and can advise on the rates and conditions of the engagement. The details will be processed and passed onto the end client to best align your expected remuneration, timeline and scope of services.

Can I charge for preparation time prior to the call?

If agreed with the client, and the complexity of the call requires so, the expert can also charge for the time spent on preparations. The wait time during the call is not compensated.

How do I prepare myself for the call?

In some cases, you will be asked to have a prep call with EonD or we will share with you a list of topics/ questions to be raised during the expert call. This will give you an idea of what to expect during the consultation. In other cases, no specific preparation is needed

When I get engaged in a project, is it remotely or on the ground?

The mode of the engagement (remote or onsite) will be communicated to you at the beginning stages of the process, most often when one of our team members first establishes contact with you. Projects we participate in have a wide range of work options. Some of them will be delivered fully remotely, some of them will require partial or one-off presence onsite, and some of them will be delivered onsite in their entirety. Our team will ensure you have all the details before you confirm your interest and availability. Additionally, you when signing up or updating your profile, you can let us know of your preference regarding the mode of work and we will take that into account when matching you with a relevant project.

Jobs & Payments

How do I apply for a job?

When EonD receives a project request from one of our clients this is what happens:

  1. We automatically perform a network check and identify the experts that best match the project
  2. We connect with the experts we picked and make sure they would be interested and available for the project
  3. If confirmed, we send selected profiles to our client
  4. Our client comes back with feedback, which we then pass on to the expert
  5. If positive, we work on the logistics of engaging the expert

How does the contracting process look like? Do I sign a contract?

If you are engaged in hourly engagements (phone consultations), EonD will be your contracting party and will provide you with T&Cs, a business agreement (contract), and an NDA to sign. There could be more than one NDA depending on the confidentiality of the material discussed during the consultation.

If you are engaged in a longer engagement, the contracting party will depend on the nature of the project. In some of the engagements EonD will handle the contracting, and will provide you with T&Cs, a service agreement (contract), and an NDA to sign. There could be more than one NDA depending on the confidentiality of the material discussed during the engagement.

For other engagements the end client will be the contracting party, in which case you will be asked to sign EonD’s T&Cs and an NDA, as well as the documents required by the end client (business agreement/contract, NDAs)

The contract’s on EonD’s part will be sent to you either in a pdf format through email or through a third-party system supporting virtual signature, for your convenience.

How do hourly engagements work?

In this model all experts are put on EonD’s payroll, meaning EonD handles all of contracting, as well as payments to Expert. There are three options for hourly engagements:

Option 1: one-off call

In this option the engagement is a one-off consultation, usually lasting 1h, rarely 2h, and is conducted as a single, continuous consultation through a web-conferencing platform such as MS Teams, Zoom or Webex. In special circumstances Expert may be asked to prepare for the call or conduct a study. Once the call is completed, Eond will pay the expert after an invoice is submitted (if the Expert has an established legal entity, B2B) OR otherwise, through a debit note.

Option 2: further calls after the first call

In this option, after the first call has been completed (Option 1), the end client asks to conduct more calls. The engagement is composed of several consultations, usually up to 4 standalone calls, rarely more, and is conducted on separate dates within 1-3 weeks through a web-conferencing platform such as MS Teams, Zoom or Webex. In special circumstances Expert may be asked to prepare for one or more calls or conduct a study. Once all the calls are completed, Eond will pay the expert after an invoice is submitted (if the Expert has an established legal entity, B2B) OR otherwise, through a debit note.

Option 3:

In this option, the end client orders a specific number of hours of calls before the consultations commence. The engagement is composed of several consultations, usually no more than 10 hours of calls, rarely more, and is conducted on one occasion or on separate dates within a pre-specified timeframe through a web-conferencing platform such as MS Teams, Zoom or Webex. In special circumstances Expert may be asked to prepare for one or more calls or conduct a study. Once all the calls are completed, Eond will pay the expert after an invoice is submitted (if the Expert has an established legal entity, B2B) OR otherwise, through a debit note.

How do daily engagements work?

In this model all experts are put on EonD’s payroll, meaning EonD handles all of contracting, as well as payments to Expert. The engagement is composed of several days of work, usually no more than 20, rarely more. The engagement is conducted either remotely with a direct contact with the end client or onsite, arranged by the end client. In special circumstances Expert may be asked to prepare for the engagement before it starts. Once the engagement is completed, Eond will pay the expert after an invoice is submitted (if the Expert has an established legal entity, B2B) OR otherwise, through a debit note.

How do monthly engagements work?

In this model, in vast majority of circumstances the Expert is put on end client’s payroll, meaning the end client handles all of contracting (in addition to EonD’s NDA and T&C), as well as payments to Expert. On rare occasion, the Expert is put on EonD’s payroll, meaning EonD handles all of contracting, as well as payments to Expert.

In this option, the end client orders a specific number of months of Expert’s work before the engagement commences. The engagement is composed of several months of work, usually no more than 12. The engagement is conducted either remotely with a direct contact with the end client or onsite, arranged by the end client. In special circumstances Expert may be asked to prepare for the engagement before it starts. The billing is conducted through monthly invoices. In some circumstances, the invoices will be based on timesheets filled out by the Expert.

How do permanent engagements work?

In this model, in vast majority of circumstances the Expert is put on end client’s payroll, meaning the end client handles all of contracting (in addition to EonD’s NDA and T&C), as well as payments to Expert. On rare occasion, the Expert is put on EonD’s payroll, meaning EonD handles all of contracting, as well as payments to Expert. There are two options for permanent hire / package:

Option 1
In this option, the end client directly hires the Expert. The engagement length is either pre-specified or indefinite. The engagement is conducted either remotely with a direct contact with the end client or onsite, arranged by the end client. In special circumstances Expert may be asked to prepare for the engagement before it starts. The billing is handled fully by the end client.

Option 2
In this option, the Expert is hired by EonD or EonD’s partner, and the end client contracts EonD for the duration of the engagement. The engagement length is either pre-specified or indefinite. The engagement is conducted either remotely with a direct contact with the end client or onsite, arranged by the end client. In special circumstances Expert may be asked to prepare for the engagement before it starts. The billing is conducted through monthly invoices issued by the Expert to EonD, agreed upon by both parties and determined on a case-by-case basis. In some circumstances, the invoices will be based on timesheets filled out by the Expert.

In the case of a phone consultation will I be paid by EonD or the client?

EonD is the contracting side for the call, thus any administrative and financial matters are handled directly between EonD and the expert.

For longer projects, the model of payments will be different depending on whether the client or EonD is responsible for contracting.

How do you calculate my invoice?

Phone consultations are compensated based on hourly fee and time spent on a call. We ask you to keep track of the engaged time.

For longer projects, the invoice is either based on the number of working hours (in which case we will process a timesheet), working days or working months.

Am I required to pay the local taxes and bank fees?

You are solely responsible for your local taxes, if applicable. Under PSD2, all transfers made within the European Economic Area (EEA) need to have shared charges imposed (costs shared between the sender and the beneficiary). Wires outside the EU are issued without additional costs imposed on the beneficiary. Bank fees may differ according to additional charges imposed on international transfers.

How do I get remunerated for a phone consultation or a longer project?

Our Administrative Representative will get in touch with you once the consultations are completed and lead you through the invoicing and payment process. Payments are executed in 7 working days after approval of an invoice. We use secured international wire transfers and remunerate in EUR or USD.

If you are engaged in a longer project, the remuneration will either come directly from the client or from EonD (where the exact dates would be discussed before the engagement).

Do I need to create an invoice somewhere?

You can send an invoice to our finance administration at office@eond.eu or a different, direct email address which will be communicated in the process if EonD is the contracting party on the project. If it’s the client, you should contact their finance department directly (EonD can help facilitate the process).

Can I direct the payment for a phone consultation to my company?

We can process the payment based on your individual invoice or company invoice. It is up to you as to how you want this payment to proceed.

What if the client is not satisfied with my answers in a phone consultation?

We have a 10-minute grace period. If an expert does not provide the required answers in the first 10 minutes, the client will have a chance to call off the consultation free of charge. The expert also has a right to call off the call in the first 10 minutes – if they deem the questions asked by the client to be out of the scope of their expertise

What if I am interested in more expert calls?

EonD works on a project basis, thus that depends in large part upon the requests made by our clients. Each time we see a suitable opportunity for you, we will reach out. The expert decides on the burden of commitment; we are always glad to continue our work with the experts. EonD makes no guarantees with respect to the number of projects.

Who is my manager on a project / who authorizes deliverables?

The role of the manager will be usually assumed by a representative of end client’s team and they will oversee and approve deliverables. The EonD team is not usually involved in determining the project’s scope and course of action – but can engage when necessary. When in doubt, you can always contact a member of our communications team and we will provide you with a detailed description of the project’s hierarchy structure and deliverables.

What happens if a client is not satisfied with my work and does not want to pay?

If an expert participates in an hourly project (phone consultation), we have a 10-minute grace period for our client. If an expert does not provide the required answers in the first 10 minutes, the client will have a chance to call off the consultation free of charge. The expert also has a right to call off the call in the first 10 minutes – if they deem the questions asked by the client to be out of the scope of their expertise, or breaching compliance rules. Then the consultation is cancelled with no further financial obligations to any of the sides.

If an expert participates in a longer project, the client will need to certify/approve deliverables for the payment to be processed. If there are issues, EonD will always try to facilitate and assist towards a satisfactory solution for all sides, but it will be ultimately up to the relation
